Orthodontics
Orthodontics and facial-tooth orthopedics is the branch of Dentistry that includes the diagnosis, prevention and correction of malocclusion, whether due to poor dental position or associated musculoskeletal structures. This area has specialized technology and equipment to provide you with treatment according to your individual needs.
Orthodontics is the branch of Dentistry that corrects the position of the teeth and jaws, preventing, intercepting and correcting malocclusions (inadequate fit of the teeth).
Misaligned teeth make hygiene difficult (increasing the risk of caries and periodontal disease), cause masticatory stress with pain (head, ears, neck or back) and an unaesthetic appearance, decreasing self-esteem.
An orthodontic treatment can also help to improve swallowing, breathing and speech, correcting the skeletal position. Currently, there are virtually invisible devices such as Invisalign that are highly evolved to help correct these problems and improve the smile.
Orthodontic treatment can be indicated at any age, through an orthodontic diagnosis (using specific x-rays for craniofacial study, photographic evaluation of your face and analysis of tooth/jaw discrepancy) and it will evaluate and advise which dental appliances will best fit the needs of each patient.
