Removable prostheses can be partial or total. As for the material, removable prostheses can be made of acrylic (acrylic prostheses) or metal-acrylic (skeletal prostheses). This type of prosthesis can be supported by teeth, by mucosa (gums) or by implants.
Fixed prostheses can be single, partial or total, supported by teeth or supported by implants. Crowns, veneers and bridges are examples of fixed prostheses. As for the material, they can be made of zirconia, ceramic and metal, among others.
In general, fixed protheses are the best solution, because, in addition to improving function and aesthetics, they provide excellent comfort for the patient.
At the Alcoforado Clinic, all cases are studied by a Multidisciplinary Team, so that a careful and correct approach can be set before treatment plans are presented to the Patient. These treatment plans will always present the different hypotheses that are most suited to the needs and wishes of each patient.
In addition to the complete study, with help of state-of-the-art technologies, we draw smiles to the millimetre, by designing them in digital format on a computer programme, which will give you an immediate result before we start work. We can also show the final result, before the beginning of treatment, through a mock-up technique in the patient's own mouth, using temporary material.
